Pinterest introduces Restyle AI room design feature
Pinterest has teased Restyle, an AI-powered tool that lets users redesign their rooms using photos, bridging the gap between browsing for inspiration and making actual purchases.

Pinterest is launching a beta version of "Restyle," a new consumer-facing artificial intelligence tool designed to help users visualize home decor changes in their own living spaces. Currently available as an early preview in the United States and Canada, the feature is scheduled for a broader rollout next month. It was first showcased at the company's annual Pinterest Presents event, alongside new advertising tools like visual search ads and app promotion features.
The feature runs on Pinterest Intelligence, a proprietary framework that integrates Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Nvidia Dynamo with open-source models and Pinterest's in-house technology. This backend partnership is designed to boost the capabilities of the Pinterest Assistant, enhancing visual search processing and converting user searches into actionable signals for AI-driven discovery and shopping.
Through Restyle, users can upload a photo of a room and prompt the AI to modify the space. The tool allows users to add furniture, wall art, and accessories, or alter elements like paint color, lighting, and plants. Users can also select individual objects to delete them, swap them out, or make specific edits. Additionally, the system can transform an entire room's aesthetic based on style prompts such as "bohemian," "industrial," "whimsical," or "dopamine."
For digital marketers and e-commerce practitioners, this integration represents a significant step toward closing the gap between browsing and buying. By allowing consumers to see how saved items look in their actual homes, Pinterest aims to convert casual inspiration into direct sales, helping users transition seamlessly from saving ideas to buying products. While AI-driven room visualization is not entirely new, embedding it directly into a major discovery platform could significantly boost conversion rates for home decor brands.
